Miami Herald taps Brugal as K-12 education reporter

The Miami Herald has hired Sommer Brugal as a K-12 education reporter. She joins from Treasure Coast Newspaper in Florida, where she was an education reporter for over 2 years.

She has also worked freelance and was a digital marketing copywriter at RepEquity, Inc. in Washington D.C. She has also worked at American University and contributed to the student paper. She has also interned at Discovery Communications in Silver Springs, MD.

Brugal graduated from American University.
