BusinessWeek’s Gene Marcial, who writes a weekly column about stocks for the magazine, is profiled in the most recent issue of the Philippine News. Marcial is a Filipino.
“‘The adrenaline flows whenever I sit down to write my column,’ he said in the interview. ‘This is not bragging or boasting. The pros on Wall Street know the column and they will admit that they follow it.’
“He recalled an inside job of an incident where a couple of workers at his publishing house tried to steal advance copies of the magazines so they could bet on his picks.
“Gene graduated from UST with a degree in Literature majoring in Journalism. He came to the U.S. in the 1950s, continued his studies at New York University where he earned a Masters in Political Science. Manhattan has been his home for more than four decades.”
