Lewis “Skip” Levingston, a former business editor of the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville, dies Jan. 3 at the age of 81.
Teresa Stepzinski of the Times-Union writes, “Mr. Livingston joined the Florida Times-Union as a business columnist and subsequently became business editor of the evening Jacksonville Journal.
“Mr. Livingston later became the founding editor of Jacksonville Monthly magazine, which later merged with Jacksonville magazine. He then created and launched a marketing magazine for the Jacksonville Port Authority in cooperation with a local design firm. He then established Skip & Co., a public relations consultancy that assisted numerous major enterprises in the area.
“He returned to the Times-Union in 2000 and served as market research manager until August 2009. He then owned and operated Skip & Co. for at least 10 years, according to his Linkedin profile.”
