Investopedia names managing editor, deputy managing editor

Investopedia 2017Investopedia.com, the IAC owned investing education and information site, announced several promotions on its editorial team under editor Caleb Silver.

Ruth Konigsberg was promoted to managing editor. She’s been with Investopedia since May of 2016 and came to the site from Arden Asset Management and Money magazine.

Will Kenton was promoted to deputy managing editor from senior editor of news. Kenton has been with Investopedia for two and a half years, and has been in charge of the Investopedia’s push into news and timely content.

David Floyd was promoted to staff writer from associate producer. Floyd has been with Investopedia for one year, but has been a contributor to the site since 2015.

“These promotions reflect the excellent work by our entire editorial team and the achievements of Ruth, Will and David in particular,” said Silver. “We have taken big steps in the past year as we have pushed into more timely content in our effort to create a full educational experience for our million of users, and we have a long way to go. Solidifying our management structure on our editorial team is key to putting us in a position to continue our success.”

Investopedia.com had a record year for traffic and revenue in 2016 as the site expanded into new content areas and products under CEO David Siegel. The site grew from 20 million unique visitors to more than 23 million in the past year.

Investopedia launched Advisor Insights, a dedicated section for financial advisors to answer user questions around personal finance and wealth management in 2016.

The site also launched a new series of educational webinars for financial advisors and investors in late 2016 and has more than 10 scheduled for 2017.
