
The Houston Chronicle personal technology column, written by Dwight Silverman since 1993, is ending next month on June 21.
Silverman had left the paper in 2021 after taking a buyout and had joined Forbes to write a similar column. But after a few months, he returned to the Chronicle and has been writing it since then.
Silverman was with the Houston Chronicle for 30 years, having joined in 1990. He managed the TechBurger website, written about personal tech for the Chronicle’s website and print edition.
He held various roles at the Chronicle, including assistant state editor, business reporter, technology columnist, interactive journalism editor, social media manager and manager of the subscriber website.
Silverman has also worked at the San Antonio Current, the San Antonio Light and the Beaumont Enterprise. He is the author of several computer books, including “Running Windows on Your Mac” (Peachpit) and “Switching to a Mac: No Problem” (Wiley & Sons).
Silverman graduated from University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
