San Francisco Standard editor in chief Kevin Delaney sent out the following announcement on Friday:

Hello Standard colleagues —

We’re happy to announce that Natallie Rocha, most recently on the SF tech reporting team at The New York Times, is joining us as a technology reporter.

At the Times, Natallie covered a range of tech topics, including news about the big AI players and other tech bellwethersthe growing wealth and weird practices of Silicon Valley, as well as the ways in which new technologies are changing our lives and relationships. Before the Times, Natallie spent several years in local news in her hometown of San Diego as a reporter at The San Diego Union-Tribune and San Diego Business Journal.

“Natallie is a great reporter — curious and brimming with ideas. She’s also a great colleague and The SF Standard is lucky to have her!” says a Times editor.

At The Standard, Natallie will join our tech coverage team, reporting to Heather Kelly. Their mission is to cover the world’s most consequential technology ecosystem from its epicenter, contributing to our readers’ understanding of the industry reshaping their city and their lives.

Please join us in welcoming Natallie.
