CNN Digital producer Jethro Mullen will join CNNMoney in its Hong Kong bureau in January.
He replaces Charles Riley, who moved to New Delhi to open a CNNMoney bureau in India.
Mullen has been working for CNN in the Hong Kong bureau for the past four years. He previously worked for the International Herald Tribune, the New York Times and Dow Jones newswires.
“Nothing gives me greater pleasure than finishing the year with expanding our editorial presence in India and Hong Kong,” said Ellana Lee, senior vice president and managing editor, CNN International, in a statement. “Increasing our resources shows once again our commitment to Asia-Pacific and the strength of our news gathering capabilities.”
CNN said it expects to hire additional staff in Hong King in the first quarter of 2016.
