
Crain’s Cleveland Business has hired Zack Smith to cover residential real estate.
He started this week.
Smith has been a data journalist with cleveland.com. Originally from Queens, New York, he specialized in health and climate journalism.
He received a master’s degree from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at City University of New York.
Smith has won awards for his data graphics, most recently with the OAPME for a story with The Plain Dealer on Ohio’s school voucher expansion. In addition to covering Northeast Ohio through a data lens, he has words in STATNews, Everyday Health, VICE, Crain’s New York, Food Bank News and local New York outlets.
