The Wall Street Journal is seeking a reporter to write memorable features and break news in the tech and media industries, with an emphasis on digging into data and sourcing to produce deeply reported, insightful stories and highly visual content.
The canvas for this job is broad. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of the inner workings of tech and media companies and the ways that they touch all of our lives. We are looking for someone capable of producing a steady stream of ambitious features while also delivering big scoops on the biggest players in tech and media. Candidates should have seven or more years experience writing news and features, with clips that specifically demonstrate the ability to tell big, bold stories that get people talking.
The job will report to the Tech & Media Editor.
You will:
- Develop original enterprise stories.
- Find smart, unexpected insights that advance major breaking news events.
- Work with colleagues to conceive and executive bigger projects and series.
You have:
- At least seven years of professional journalism experience.
- A demonstrated ability to separate from the pack and find original approaches to the news everyone is chasing.
- An ability and desire to unearth fresh stories.
