Business Insider launches sub-Saharan site

Business Insider announced Friday that it will launch a sub-Saharan version of its site in conjunction with Ringier Africa Digital Publishing.

The site will debut on Jan. 23.

Business Insider Sub Saharan Africa will be operated by Ringier Africa under its Pulse new media brand. The Pulse brand also publishes Men’s Health across Africa, and Women’s Health in West Africa.

“We’re thrilled to launch our 15th version of Business Insider in Africa – a place of incredible change and growth,” said Business Insider’s Henry Blodget, global editor in chief. “Ringier has a deep understanding of the digital space and is the ideal partner to help us bring to Sub Saharan Africa Business Insider’s unique voice and attitude.”

Business Insider launched a site in Japan earlier this month. It launched in Italy in November.
