Wall Street Journal reporter Anne Steele is now covering the media and entertainment beat, with a focus on podcasting and the powers in new media.
She previously was its music industry reporter.
She has been with the Journal since 2015, writing on a wide variety of topics on the real-time desk, including drug-pricing controversies, the auto industry and the retail sector’s woes, to name a few. She previously worked as an intern at the Journal’s Detroit bureau and at the Tampa Bay Times.
During college at Northeastern University, Steele worked on the city desk at the Boston Globe, where she also wrote local food reviews. She also spent a summer as a reporting intern at the Cape Argus in Cape Town, South Africa.
She grew up in Duxbury, Mass., making her one of several Boston-area natives who now call the Los Angeles bureau home.
