Pettypiece to cover the economy and politics for NBC News

Shannon Pettypiece, a White House reporter at NBC News has taken over the role of senior policy reporter. Pettypiece will cover the economy and the way politics shape everyday lives.

Previously, she was a White House reporter, focused on jobs, the economy and health care at Bloomberg. She also contributed to Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Bloomberg TV, and Bloomberg Radio.

Before that, she covered Wal-Mart, the consumer economy, health policy, public health, and big pharma.

She also reported for Crain’s Cleveland Business and Miami Today News.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, Pettypiece also interned at the New York Times.
