Karen Weintraub and Kevin Miller

Endpoints News executive editor Drew Armstrong sent out the following on Tuesday:

Today we’re announcing two exciting editorial hires at Endpoints News: Karen Weintraub + Kevin Miller.

Karen Weintraub is our new deputy editor and will help oversee our coverage of biotech, science and medicine, managing a team of reporters here in the US and working across our newsroom globally on major stories, breaking news and everything in between.

She was most recently the Enterprise Editor at USA Today. Before covering Covid-19 and other health issues for the paper, she spent a decade as a freelance writer for publications such as the New York Times, Scientific American and STAT. Earlier, she was deputy health/science editor at the Boston Globe, and spent a year on an MIT Science Journalism Fellowship. A mother of two and long-time adjunct professor, now at MIT, Weintraub has co-written three books, most recently, “Born in Cambridge,” about innovation in Cambridge, MA, where she lives within walking distance from the research departments of more than a dozen of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world. Karen begins with Endpoints next week.

Kevin Miller will also join us as a deputy editor, working across the US day. He has close to three decades of experience at Bloomberg News, where he was the longtime deputy managing editor of US company news, working with reporters and editors on business and markets stories. He previously served as the US Economy team leader and newsroom trainer. For the last several months, he’s been working as a contract editor at Endpoints, and he has a passion for developing reporters and their stories. He’ll be working closely with all of our teams, and providing a rock-solid foundation to our core business coverage. Kevin is based in Ohio and will start full-time in early May.
