The Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing selected two business journalists as Sho Fellows for the 2026 SABEW Conference taking place May 7-9, 2026, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Philadelphia Center City.

This year’s Sho Fellows are Ayah Ali-Ahmad, newscast reporter, KQED News, and Kirk Ogunrinde, news fellow, Forbes.

During the three-day program, the Fellows will sharpen their journalistic skills, learn best practices, network and more as #SABEW26 convenes newsmakers, government officials, economists, executives, academia and top-notch journalists.

SABEW board member Shobhana Chandra, known as Sho to friends and colleagues, was an economics reporter for Bloomberg News when she suddenly passed away in February 2019. After her passing, SABEW started The Sho Fund to salute her legacy and honor her contributions to the profession and the organization. The Sho Fund aims to attract journalists of color and help them in their careers by supporting professional development opportunities.

This fellowship is supported by donations from individuals. If you would like to make a donation in memory of Sho to continue funding these fellowships, please consider making a contribution to The Sho Fund here.
