Rob Urban, who spent nearly three decades at Bloomberg News in a variety of positions, has died.
He most recently was a news editor at Investopedia.
He was director of editorial development for real estate publication The Real Deal in 2021 and 2022, expanding The Real Deal’s presence in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Austin, Dallas and Houston.
Urban had previously been at Bloomberg News for 28 years, including stints in Moscow and Prague as well as New York. He was a senior editor and reporter on the finance and real estate team. He was also the global real estate team leader.
Urban has written and edited stories and managed reporters in all aspects of finance, investing, real estate and cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
Before Bloomberg, Urban spent four years at The Charlotte Observer.
