Business Insider seeks a front page editor

Business Insider is hiring a front page editor to set our news agenda, capture readers with stories they both want and need to know, and display Business Insider’s brand in a powerful, authentic way.

The front page editor is a crucial role for our site, which has 100 million monthly readers. This person’s work will have a direct impact on many readers’ first impression of our brand.

This editor will work with leadership across the newsroom to select the best stories at any given moment, craft compelling headlines, pick top splashes and accompanying artwork, and present the overall best face for our content. They will set the vision for the front page and help design a strategy to achieve it.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong business news sense
  • Familiarity with the topics and stories that matter to Business Insider
  • Mastery of headline-writing, particularly in the BI style
  • Ability to multitask and move quickly as news breaks
  • Strong collaboration skills

This is a full-time position based out of our New York headquarters, working New York hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern). Business Insider offers competitive compensation packages complete with benefits.
