PBS taps Alcindor as host of “Washington Week”

Yamiche Alcindor has been appointed host of “Washington Week” at PBS. She succeeds Robert Costa, a reporter for The Washington Post who took over in 2017 and left the show this year, reports The New York Times.

Alcindor will continue her role as White House correspondent for PBS NewsHour while also staying on as a contributor to NBC News and MSNBC. Previously, she was a national political reporter at The New York Times and a national multimedia journalist at USA Today.

She was also a reporter at Newsday and has also interned at The Washington Post, Mmegi Newspaper, The Miami Herald and Seattle Times.

Alcindor holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a master’s degree from New York University.
