Washington state paper cuts stock listings

The Columbian daily newspaper, which covers Vancouver, Wash., is cutting back on the printed stock listings in both its daily and Sunday newspapers, according to a short item on Tuesday.

Stock listingsStock listingsStaff writer Julia Anderson wrote, “Today, The Columbian is reducing its package of stocks and investment news from two pages to one as a way of addressing rising print production costs. Called Money & Markets, the page — prepared by The Associated Press — contains more than 100 stocks our readers regularly follow, along with a selection of business news briefs, T-bill and bond rates, commodities prices, and a roundup of global markets and foreign currency rates.

“In addition, changes are being made to the Sunday business section, which will now contain mutual fund listings only.

“For up-to-the-minute stock and mutual fund information, go to www.columbian.com, and, under the Local Business header, click on “stocks.â€?”
