Real estate news site The Real Deal has hired Jerry Sullivan as a senior editor.
Sullivan has been running “SullivanSaysCoCal” for the past three years after leaving the Los Angeles Business Journal, where he was editor in chief, in 2018.
“I’m appreciative for the experience of running a digitally distributed, subscription-based news operation in a manner that showed the value of quality local journalism by turning a profit throughout its three-year tenure,” said Sullivan in a message. “I’m just as glad to join the team at The Real Deal, which consistently demonstrates the value of quality journalism on a national scale.”
Sullivan became editor of the Business Journal in June 2017. He previously had been editor of the Orange County Business Journal, a sister publication.
He founded the Los Angeles Garment & Citizen, which served neighborhoods throughout Downtown Los Angeles and surrounding districts from 2001 to 2010. He also has edited California Apparel News, Pacific Textile News and World Trade Magazine.
