Steve Russolillo is becoming deputy coverage chief for The Wall Street Journal’s speed and trending desk.

He has been a strategy editor for business and corporate coverage at The Journal, focused on driving digital innovation and using audience metrics to improve the reader experience.

Previously, he was a foreign correspondent for The Journal based in Hong Kong, where he covered stocks and cryptocurrencies as a global markets reporter.

Before that, he was the “Ahead of the Tape” columnist for the Journal’s Heard on the Street team in New York.

Russolillo rejoined WSJ after working as a financial writer for Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Prior to that, he was a MoneyBeat reporter for the Journal and the lead author of WSJ’s daily markets newsletter. He has an MBA in finance from Baruch College in New York and a B.A. in history from the University of Delaware.
