Quartz names a chief revenue officer

Business news site Quartz has promoted Joy Robins to lead both sales and marketing in the newly established role of chief revenue officer.

“Joy’s energy, skill and credibility have made her not only a great driver of revenue, but a great leader as well. We recently consolidated sales and marketing under Joy and we’re already seeing the benefits of her leadership,” publisher Jay Lauf wrote in a memo to staff.

Since joining Quartz in November of 2013, Robins has led triple-digit growth in Quartz’s client base and revenue globally.

“We have established ourselves as a leader in innovation, user experience and advertiser satisfaction in just five years,” said Robins. “It’s the foundation for much more growth and expansion in the years ahead”.

Under Robins’ leadership, Quartz has executed 543 custom content campaigns with 150 premium global brands. She led the commercial success of new product launches, including Quartz Index,  Quartz’s email products, and the Quartz app

Robins’ promotion is effective immediately, and she will report to Lauf from Quartz’s New York City headquarters.
