Portland Biz Journal’s real estate newsletter cutting editions

The Real Estate Inc. email newsletter from the Portland Business Journal is cutting to two editions per week from its current five editions.

The moves comes shortly after the business newspaper cut its Sustainable Business Oregon email newsletter.

Staff writer Jon Bell writes, “REI is shifting to a twice-a-week model beginning next week. The newsletter will still arrive at around 11 a.m., but instead of Monday through Friday, it will land in your inboxes on Monday and Wednesday. The goal is to not only cut back on the number of emails that subscribers receive from the Business Journal each day, but to free up time and resources on this end to allow for more in-depth real estate coverage.

“Based on how active the real estate scene has been in Portland over the past few years, there’s still going to be plenty of news to cover in the coming year. We’ll be able to go deeper into those stories without the pressure and commitment of a daily newsletter. (Though we will still publish real estate stories on our site regularly throughout the day.)”
