Politico moves NY health care reporter to NY Playbook

Nick Niedzwiadek

Joe Schatz, editor of Politico States, sent out the following announcement on Sunday:

Hi all,

We’re very pleased to announce that Nick Niedzwiadek, currently our Albany health care reporter, will be taking on the role of New York Playbook co-author, working closely with Laura Nahmias in New York City. Nick joined POLITICO’s Albany bureau in 2016 and impressed everyone with his smart coverage of the New York state legislature – so much so that we promoted him to health care reporter in 2017. Nick is eager to cover the politics and policy of Andrew Cuomo’s third term in Albany and collaborate with Laura to write the Empire State edition of POLITICO’s Playbook franchise, which now drives the political conversation in Washington, DC, Brussels, London and six states. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Nick is an Upstate native, hailing from Latham, NY, just outside Albany. He’ll start on New York Playbook tomorrow, and we’ll be recruiting a new health care reporter to join our talented Albany squad, which includes Bill Mahoney, Marie French, Anna Gronewold and editor Terry Golway.
