Alex Orfinger has been named publisher of the Washington Business Journal, a spot he previously held.
Editor Vandana Sinha reports, “Orfinger had led the Washington Business Journal for 18 years before moving into a corporate position with parent company American City Business Journals in the fall of 2014. He will still continue in his role as executive vice president of ACBJ, leading several of the company’s programs, including the Business Journal Leadership Trust.
“But when the opportunity arose to assume what he has considered his favorite job in a 28-year career with ACBJ, he said he couldn’t refuse. He takes the reins from predecessor Peter Abrahams.
“‘What we do is more important than ever as business communities face so many challenges,’ Orfinger said. ‘These challenges are magnified by recent events. We can help businesses and business owners navigate the equal challenges of economic recovery from Covid-19, systemic racism and ensuring opportunity for all.'”
