Morning Consult’s Sabin moving to new beat

Sam Sabin

Morning Consult brands reporter Sam Sabin is moving to a new beat.

Sabin is now covering tech policy. She will author the Morning Consult Tech morning and afternoon newsletters, along with taking on the tech policy beat and reporting on anything tech- and telecom-related in Washington.

Sabin previously covered national media/marketing/tech news and writing the Morning Consult Brands newsletter.

She joined Morning Consult last year after covering tech for DC Inno.

Sabin is a May 2016 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, where she studied business journalism and political science. She interned for CNBC.com in San Francisco and for the business desk at The (Raleigh) News & Observer.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
