The Financial Times will start a financial markets blog that will be edited by Paul Murphy, according to a story in the Guardian.
Stephen Brook wrote, “Murphy, a former Guardian financial editor, has been working on the secret project – Alphaville – for several months and it is believed to be ready to launch next week.
A prototype of the site is up and running at http://ftalphaville.ft.com/.
“A message on the site says: ‘FT Alphaville is a free daily news and commentary service giving financial market professionals the information they need, when they need it.’
“Unlike most of FT.com, which is behind a subscription wall, it is understood the new blog will be free.
“Murphy left the Guardian to become development editor at FT.com. The award-winning journalist has also worked for the Daily Telegraph and Sunday Business.”
