Note from CNBC Business News senior vice president Dan Colarusso:
After more than 27 years with CNBC, Tyler Mathisen will step away from his role as “Power Lunch” Co-Anchor in late December. He will continue to play a key part in CNBC Events and a variety of other areas into 2025.
Tyler’s contributions, both editorially and to the culture of CNBC, cannot be overstated. He has been a trusted and defining voice for the network as an anchor of several key Business Day programs and specials. His presence and deep involvement in our events business has helped shape the brand and carry the network’s credibility forward to live audiences.
Since joining the network, Tyler has anchored two of CNBC’s longest-running franchises, “Power Lunch” and “Closing Bell,” as well as “Nightly Business Report,” for which he won a SABEW for Best Radio/TV Show in 2014. Before that, he served as Managing Editor of Business News.
Tyler was already a force in business news prior to CNBC. He was a writer and top editor at Money and garnered several accolades, including the first-ever National Magazine Award for New Media, the American University-Investment Company Institute Award for Personal Finance Journalism and a News & Documentary Emmy Award.
Tyler will always be an important voice to investors, executives, students and anyone desiring clear and authoritative conversations about markets and global business.
We owe Tyler our deepest gratitude and wish him well on his many future endeavors.
Dan
