Detroit News reporter Keith Laing has been hired by Bloomberg News to cover auto and transportation regulatory issues out of its Washington bureau.
He will start next week.
Laing currently covers national government and politics for The News in its Washington, D.C. bureau.
Prior to joining The News, he covered transportation policy in Congress for The Hill. He also previously worked for the News Service of Florida, where he tracked the Florida state legislature with a focus on transportation and energy issues. Additionally, he worked in the Georgia Senate Press Office and served as a local government reporter for The Brunswick News, a daily newspaper published off the coast of southeast Georgia. He also frequently contributed to Atlanta Tribune: The Magazine.
Laing is an alumnus of Howard University here he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in print journalism with a minor in business administration in 2005. He also earned a Master of Arts degree in political science, with a specialization in American politics, from Georgia State University.
