Biz journalist launches website covering cannabis industry

Longtime business journalist Debra Borchardt has started a website called The Green Market Report covering the cannabis industry.

The site will publish news briefs on business, banking, cultivation and extraction issues, as well as cannabis company stock prices and wholesale cannabis prices.

Borchardt has previously written for TheStreet.com, Women’s Wear Daily and Forbes, where she wrote about the cannabis business.

“After years of personally scouring multiple websites in order to find the key financial stories in the cannabis industry, I realized an opportunity existed to create a central, credible news source for cannabis investors and industry insiders alike,” said Borchardt in a statement. She is the CEO and editor in chief of the company.

The site will include a weekly video series summarizing industry business news called “Marijuana Money.”

The site will also include market analytics from sources such as Cannabis Benchmarks, New Cannabis Ventures, the Marijuana Index and Viridian Capital Advisors.

The site is headquartered in the financial district of New York and has an office in Los Angeles.
