Beat switch for Bloomberg reporter Jiao

Claire Jiao

Claire Jiao, a reporter at Bloomberg, will be leaving the Manila bureau and taking on a new role as an Indonesia economy, government and business reporter.

Previously, Jiao has served as a correspondent/senior editor – business and economy at CNN Philippines. There, she reported live and on-camera for the local franchise of CNN International, including TV and digital platforms.

She was also a business and economy intern at The Conversation Media Group commissioning articles and managing social media.

Jiao has also worked as a reporter/sub-editor – banking and finance at BusinessWorld Online. There, she covered banking, finance and the macroeconomy. She also became the newspaper’s youngest-ever editor, managing three reporters and supervising the coverage of banking and finance among other tasks.

She was also a public relations assistant at Jollibee Foods Corp.

Jiao is a B.A. in journalism from University of the Philippines and a M.A. from University of Melbourne.
