Delaney joined the AP in 2008 to create a personal finance news service for the AP and since 2012 has been running Money & Markets.
While at the AP, Delaney developed marketing materials and coordinated the launch of an expanded Money & Markets Extra Sunday supplement, which competed for and secured new business. He also helped lead the design and implementation of automated corporate earnings reports, a system that now produces 3,000 stories each quarter.
Before the AP, Delaney was editorial director of personal finance for Black Enterprise, where he developed and coordinated personal finance content across all media platforms, including the magazine, website, television and radio. His chief responsibilities included generating ideas, planning and editing the coverage of money management and investing topics, and contributing to the writing and editing of feature articles.
Delaney was also a staff writer for Smart Money and editor in chief of Law Firm Inc. and Small Firm Business. He has a law degree from Emory University and a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
