The Washington Post has named Pranshu Verma to cover defense technology.

He has been the New Delhi bureau chief for the Post for the past year and previously covered tech.

Verma joined the Post in 2022 from the Boston Globe, where he was a technology reporter covering Boston’s startup scene. He also was founding co-anchor of the Globe’s technology newsletter, Innovation Beat.

Verma previously was a David Rosenbaum reporting fellow in the New York Times’s Washington Bureau, where he reported on diplomacy and internet freedom, profiled targets of Trump administration sanctions and documented attempts to defund a prominent global internet access group.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance in 2009 at the University of Delaware and a master’s in journalism from Columbia University in 2019.
