Semafor has hired Ashley Gold as its senior technology correspondent.
She will start on Sept. 8.
“Technology is perhaps the most important policy area facing Washington — not to mention Brussels and Beijing,” said Semafor editor in chief Ben Smith in a statement. “Ashley will help us own this coverage with the editorial judgment it deserves.”
Gold has been at Axios as a technology policy reporter. She has also served as Washington reporter at The Information and as a technology reporter and e-health reporter at Politico. Gold was also U.S. news writer at BBC.
She has also held the post of associate editor, health IT at Fierce Markets. She has also worked at The Reading Eagle as metro reporter.
Gold is a graduate of Penn State University.
