Sportico hires Geary to be staff editor

Molly Geary

Sports business news site Sportico has hired Molly Geary to be a staff editor.

She will start May 30.

“We are beyond thrilled to add someone as talented and diligent as Molly,” said Sportico editor in chief Scott Soshnick in an email.

Geary had been at Sports Illustrated for nearly nine years, most recently as the beat editor for the college football and college basketball sections on its website site.

She also worked as a staff writer for Testudo Times, a Maryland sports blog.

Geary is a University of Maryland graduate.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.
