SABEW selects 17 fellows for med tech conference

Seventeen journalists were selected for the 2025 The Business of Medtech: Miracle or Malpractice? workshop on Dec. 4-5 in Washington, D.C.

Journalists chosen to be a Fellow will attend sessions covering topics including: How AI and Medtech are Transforming Care, Costs and Coverage; What’s a Medical Device Now? From Wearables to AI; Follow the Money – Devices as Big Business; Medtech, AI and the Future of Access; Safety, Surveillance, and Cybersecurity and Regulation in a Rapid Fire World.

The fellows include:

  • Jessica Fu, affordability reporter, The Seattle Times
  • Agnee Ghosh, AI reporter, Bloomberg
  • Jazmin Goodwin, founder, What The Fem Media
  • Brian Gordon, business and technology reporter, The News & Observer
  • Cheyenne Haslett, White House reporter, Politico
  • Gina Jiménez, staff writer, Public Health Watch
  • Liese Klein, health business reporter, Hearst Media
  • Shanna Nichols, The George Washington University MBA student
  • Sophie Okolo, freelance investigative researcher and reporter
  • Natalie Robbins, staff writer, Albuquerque Journal
  • Hilke Schellmann, investigative freelance reporter and journalism professor at NYU
