Politico hires Kanu to cover regulatory law

Hassan Kanu

Politico has hired Hassan Kanu to cover regulatory law.

He has been at The American Prospect for the past year as a staff writer. He joined Reuters in 2020 to write a column about justice and equality under the law.

Kanu previously was at Bloomberg BNA since June 2014. He has covered and analyzed court opinions and legal developments related to public employee issues for Daily Labor Report, Bloomberg BNA’s flagship daily covering current labor and employment law issues for practitioners, policymakers, and executives.

Kanu was previously a legal associate for the D.C. Appleseed Center for Law and Justice.

He holds an undergraduate degree from Morehouse College and a law degree from Duke University.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
