MLex promotes Bolongaro to ME for Europe

Kait Bolongaro

MLex has promoted Kait Bolongaro as managing editor for Europe.

She has been a senior editor with the Brussels team on EU regulatory and policy news since joining in 2021.

She previously was in the Bloomberg News Ottawa bureau as a government reporter, where she had been since February 2020.

She had been a freelancer covering broad issues in the European Union politics and policy. Before that, she was a correspondent at The Capitol Forum and also held the post of a reporter with Politico Europe covering international issues ranging from the NATO Summit and the EU Leaders Summit to Brexit.

She has also worked as a business reporter at BBC and served as a journalist and features reporter at Deutsche Welle and Al Jazeea Media Network, respectively. Additionally, Bolongaro has worked freelance at Facebook and worked as a politics editor and editor-in-chief at Cafébabel, a European magazine.

Bolongaro received a bachelor’s degree in French and African studies from The University of British Columbia and earned her master’s degree in journalism and media across cultures from Universität Hamburg. She has another master’s degree in journalism and media and globalization from Aarhus University.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
