Business Insider has hired Peter Kafka as chief correspondent.
In 2007, he was the first hire at Silicon Alley Insider, the predecessor to Business Insider. Kafka is known for his coverage of media and technology.
Kafka is the host of the widely acclaimed Recode Media podcast, where he engages in discussions with influential figures shaping the media and technology industries. The podcast will continue as part of Morning Brew’s popular series of podcasts. Morning Brew and Business Insider are both subsidiaries of Berlin-based Axel Springer.
“Back in the summer of 2007, Peter told me to come work for SAI – which eventually became Business Insider,” said Nicholas Carlson, Business Insider global editor-in-chief, in a statement. “By the time I did, he was off to other things. For years, people told me the site was great – but where did Peter go? Well…we finally got him back, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!”
Prior to his return to Business Insider, Kafka played a vital role at Vox, where his weekly Recode podcast and newsletter became go-to sources for in-depth analysis and commentary on the ever-evolving media and technology landscape.
Kafka previously worked at Forbes, where he honed his skills and passion for storytelling. Over the years, he has contributed to Forbes.com, All Things Digital, and Recode, showcasing a remarkable ability to dissect and illuminate the fast-changing complexities of the media and tech world.
