BridgeTower names Irwin its executive VP of media

Liz Irwin

BridgeTower Media, which owns business newspapers across the country, has named Liz Irwin its executive vice president of media.

She is also senior group publisher for the Home Furnishings Division, SC Biz and its legal publications in North Carolina and South Carolina.

Before joining the company in 2011, she was vice president of advertising at the Charlotte Observer and director of classified advertising at the Kansas City Star.

BridgeTower’s publications include Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, NJBIZ, Arizona Capitol Times, The Daily Record (MD) and Furniture Today. It also owns It also owns Long Island Business News, New Orleans CityBusiness, the Daily Journal of Commerce in Oregon, and Finance & Commerce in Minnesota.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
