Bloomberg’s head of U.S. TV Rachel Wehrspann sent the below to the newsroom on Tuesday:
USTV Team,
As part of our commitment to expanding and improving our broadcast news coverage from the nation’s capital, we would like to officially announce some key hires and moves.
First, we would like to welcome Tim Carter, who joins us as Executive Producer for Political Video. Tim is an experienced broadcast producer, who was most recently at CNN for more than a decade. Before that, he was the original line producer for MSNBC’s Morning Joe program in New York. Tim will run point on many of our biggest political video initiatives, helping to guide our daily programs, longer-form content and new cross-platform projects. He starts Aug. 18 and will be based in Washington.
We would also like to officially welcome a few other new team members who have joined recently, starting with Senior Producer Eric Ortega. Based in New York, Eric is an Emmy award-winning creative producer, most recently at ABC News Live Prime with Linsey Davis. Eric has already made an important impact in helping to elevate the content and visuals of our flagship political program Balance of Power, hosted by anchors Joe Mathieu and Kailey Leinz. Booking Producer Amanda Hayes Roark and Production Assistant Riley Johnson, both in Washington, round out our new hires.
In other moves, we have officially promoted Tyler Kendall to Washington Correspondent for broadcast. Tyler has served as a producer for Bloomberg Television since 2022, often contributing to on-air and print news coverage. Her contributions have only broadened this year with daily on-air work and guest-anchoring Balance of Power. We are posting a role to replace her as a Coordinating Producer in the bureau. Diasia Robinson also recently relocated to Washington from New York to serve as a Field Producer in DC, working with the US assignment desk to produce and monitor coverage of events and news.
We would like to thank Ed Dufner for his help guiding our coverage this year as we worked to expand and reshape the team. Ed will continue to work closely with our team in DC as we welcome our new team members, so make sure to keep him looped in on Washington-related issues.
We are always looking for ways to improve our coverage. We believe these moves will better position us to cover the intersection of global politics and business. Please make our new team members feel welcome and reach out to me with any questions!
Thank you,
Rachel
