FT taps Hammond as West Coast deputy bureau chief

George Hammond

George Hammond has been named West Coast deputy bureau chief for The Financial Times.

He will continue to cover venture capital and artificial intelligence.

Before that, he covered real estate for the publication.

Hammond started at the FT as a freelancer in April 2017. He joined the staff full time in October 2018 as a property reporter covering the UK housebuilder news and the residential property market. He then held the post of Asia finance reporter.

He was a researcher on the foreign desk at the Times. Hammond graduated from the University of Oxford.
