Danielle Paquette will join The Washington Post’s America desk as a national correspondent to produce relevant narratives regarding the forces shaping American society and will anchor coverage of major breaking news events.
She starts her new role on July 25.
Three years ago, Paquette opened the Post’s West Africa bureau, based in Dakar, Senegal. For her work there, she was awarded the Overseas Press Club’s Madeline Dane Ross Award in 2020. Before that, she was served as an economics reporter.
Prior to the Post, Paquette covered crime for the Tampa Bay Times. She interned at the Los Angeles Times and CNN.
Paquette graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
