Cate Barron, president at PA Group Media, is set to retire on June 30. She will remain with the company in a consulting role through the end of the year.
Barron spent almost four decades with The Patriot-News, PennLive and PA Media Group. Previously, she served as VP, content at PA Media Group.
She has also served as an assistant city editor, Sunday editor, features editor, managing editor, executive editor and editor at The Patriot-News in Harrisburg, the state capital of Pennsylvania. She was also a business reporter at The Sentinel.
She also served as president of Pennsylvania’s Associated Press Media Editors and American Society of News Editors chapters. She spent two terms on the national APME board and was an adjunct journalism instructor.
Barron has a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a master’s degree from Penn State University.
