Houston Fox station appoints Kunkel sports director

Will Kunkel

Houston-based Fox station KRIV-TV Ch. 26 has tapped Will Kunkel to serve as sports director. Recently, he held the same post at WJZY-TV Ch. 46, a Fox affiliate in Belmont, N.C.

Previously, Kunkel was lead sports anchor at CBS station KWCH-TV Ch. 12 in Hutchinson, Kans., and sports director at NBC outlet WNWO-TV Ch. 24 in Toledo, Ohio.

He was also a production assistant at ESPN.

Kunkel has a bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University In Canton, N.Y. and a master’s degree from Northwestern University.
