CNN hires Hur as markets writer

Krystal Hur

CNN has hired Krystal Hur to cover markets, beginning in March.

She has been at CNBC as an associate reporter, writing for “Mad Money” by Jim Cramer, and reporting across the site’s other verticals.

Hur joined CNBC from NBC News, where she was a business, tech and media reporting intern. She also interned at The Wall Street Journal and OpenSecrets in Washington, where she wrote data-driven stories about money in politics.

She was also an editorial intern at Automotive News.

Hur graduated from the University of Michigan, where she worked at the student paper, The Michigan Daily.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
