Chicago Public Media has hired Alex Degman as statehouse reporter covering state legislature for WBEZ 91.5 FM and nine other NPR stations in Illinois.
He joins from KMOX in St. Louis City County, Missouri, where he was a news anchor/reporter. He has also worked in Springfield, Illinois, at Saga Communications, where he was a news director for Illinois Radio Network, and has served as an anchor, reporter, producer, news director and brand manager for WTAX.
He was also a news anchor/reporter at Tri States Public Radio.
Degman has a B.A. in broadcasting/journalism from Western Illinois University and a M.A. in public affairs reporting from the University of Illinois at Springfield.
