Addy Baird, a political reporter at BuzzFeed News has accepted a buyout offer and will leave the digital media company after three years. BuzzFeed is offering the buyouts to reduce its size and increase profitability.
Baird said in a Twitter post, “I am incredibly proud of the journalism I was able to do in this role, particularly my reporting on allegations sexual harrasment against Rep. Madison Cawthorn.” (R.-N.C.) Those allegations led to the controversial congressman’s primary defeat Tuesday.
Prior to joining BuzzFeed News, Baird was a political reporter at ThinkProgress.
