WSJ seeks risk and compliance reporter

The Wall Street Journal is looking for a reporter to write news, analysis and commentary on the world of risk, compliance and regulation of companies and financial institutions.

The reporter will be writing for compliance officers, regulators and lawyers who read our WSJ Risk & Compliance Journal, and should be able to write with knowledge and flair.

The reporter should understand the nuances of corporate governance, compliance, bribery, money laundering, sanctions, cybercrime and strategic risk.

The successful candidate would be able to source methodically and break news, develop high-impact enterprise stories and explain technical concepts to a broad business audience. We’re looking for someone who is fluent in various forms of digital storytelling. Experience covering risk and compliance or a related field is required.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
