The Intercept seeks senior editor

The Intercept is looking for a dynamic editor to join its senior editorial leadership team.

In this role, you will work with staff reporters and freelancers on in-depth investigations, as well as news stories and opinion pieces in response to unfolding events.

RESPONSIBILITIES and REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10 years of journalistic experience, including editing experience
  • Track record of publishing groundbreaking journalism
  • Compelling editorial vision
  • Ability to respond to breaking news events by conceptualizing high-impact investigative news
  • Commitment to ensuring that The Intercept provides an outlet for a rich diversity of voices and viewpoints
  • Comfort editing opinion pieces
  • Ability to respond to rapidly shifting priorities and demands
  • Proficiency in creating engaging online content
  • Keen attention to factual detail

This position reports to the editor-in-chief.
