Rochester Business Journal seeks digital manager

The Rochester Business Journal and the NY Daily Record are seeking a Digital Manager to lead the vision, strategy and implementation of our digital news on RBJdaily.com and NYDailyRecord.com.

The ideal candidate will have 5-plus years of experience in a leadership role.  Applicants must have strong digital and traditional journalism skills, an understanding of HTML and CSS, and a meticulous attention to detail. Experience with email newsletters and digital marketing is also a requirement. Experience with WordPress or other content management systems is a plus.

The Digital Manager will work closely with editors and journalists to improve digital content, provide training, enhance the quality of our websites, understand analytics and implement improvements based on analytics. This position is also responsible for growing our social media presences and providing expectations and training to staff for social media.

The role will work closely with our corporate IT team to improve design and user experience and to implement new ideas. Some non-editorial marketing duties are occasionally required.

The Daily Record has been a leader in the legal news market for 109 years, and the Rochester Business Journal has been a business news leader for 30 years. Both are owned by BridgeTower Media, a BtoB news company with various locations across the United States. Both products are the niche news sources for Western NY.

If you thrive on creating essential, respected digital content and consider yourself an innovative leader with a strong understanding and foundation in journalism, this is the role for you.
